Making the Mundane Erotic

Dates: May 20 - 25, 2007
Instructor: Rachelle Chase
Cost: FREE to FTHRW members; $10.00 for all others
Registration Deadline: May 16, 2007

Course Description:

Erotic romance and erotica are hot (pun intended) markets. But what makes them hot? To capture a reader’s attention, do you have to invent a brand new shape-shifting species for your latest paranormal? Or add the hottest new sex toy in that upcoming scene? Or add a racy sex scene every few pages?

Of course not. While any of the above can add originality to your story, they do not by themselves make a story hot. In fact, used incorrectly, they can turn readers off. So how do you make your heroine’s typical day at the office feel sexy? How do you make that ‘vanilla sex’ scene sizzle? How do you make the mundane feel erotic?

About the Instructor:

In between writing her current books and fantasizing about the next one, Rachelle Chase works as a business consultant in the unromantic, though sometimes comic, corporate world, and also models. Her first published erotic romance novella, Out of Control, appeared in SECRETS VOLUME 13 in July 2005. Upcoming releases include, “Romance for One” an erotic romance short story in the charity anthology, DESIRES AND DREAMS (Feb 2007), as well as SEX LOUNGE (May 2007) and SIN CLUB (Dec 2007), both to be released by Kensington in the Aphrodisia line.
