Course Description:
Is your hero or heroine a TV Broadcaster, TV host or investigative
reporter? Get the inside scoop on the day to day functions
of a television newsroom and how the media operates on breaking
news and how they cover investigative stories from a broadcast
veteran who spent 35 years in the business in one of the largest
markets in the country. Get the facts on how a newsroom operates,
how an investigative reporter works and what it's like to
be an anchor person in a large market.
About the Instructor:
Becky Martinez is an award winning journalist who has worked
in television newsrooms from Seattle to San Diego, Las Vegas,
Denver and mostly Los Angeles. She has produced thousands
of newscasts and been in the executive producer hotseat for
such events as the Los Angeles Riots, OJ Simpson case and
worked as a field producer for NBC News. Her career has spanned
many of the exciting changes that have come in the broadcast
business.
